First Day of Autumn

The photo was taken just outside my place on the corner of Wentworth and Estes in Milwaukee...when I lived there of course. I left Milwaukee in April 2008 and miss the autumn there. I miss autumn period being stuck down here in south Florida where there is nothing but the four seasons of: Hot, Hotter, Hottest, and Even Hotter than That!

Digging through the poetry archive I found this little poem I wrote shortly after meeting my last BF in August 2001. Yes I said last. Though we split back in 04 I haven’t been in a relationship since. What’s that like? Free. It’s lonely sometimes but free. My long string of BFs fill a past of codependency. Maybe not ALL of them but many. So many sickos I dated! UGH! Hmm perhaps lesbianism is looking real good now...

My favorite season is autumn so it is only befitting that I begin my blog on this evening. May your autumn days be filled with the warm colors of dying leaves.
That didn’t come out right!
Enjoy the old poem. I did. Reminiscing can be a beautiful thing. That’s it! May your autumn be filled with the warm colors of a dying past best left in the past.
Oh whatever! It’s late! Goodnight and happy first day of autumn.

First Day of Autumn
Part 1
9/22/01

Inside
a realm of lonely thoughts
helpless
but free
within themselves
They must never leave
to the outside
world
Thoughts, the obnoxious of words
only destroy
My mind, a prison to prevent destruction
my spirit, but longing to escape
the tormenting
Leaves are falling
without a cell of consumption
they're free of passion
and not imprisoned
Acceptance upon the ground, they die
my thoughts so wish
to find
this cry
and empty my brain
if they to escape
but never to grasp
their endless
fate.
